Pool of Architect Pieter van der Walt

While this 2014 conversion was designed and construction was guided by wetlandPOOLS, the client undertook most of the work using local stone masons and materials.

The pool is divided into a swim lane and a wetland with a wavy rock wall, and the pool coping has been replaced with a rock coping. The sunniest end contains water lilies while the rest of the wetland is a green swathe against the backdrop of the creeper-covered wall behind it.

The design of this pool conversion won a merit award from the Pretoria Institute of Architects.
