To achieve the client’s request for clean lines and shapes, a crisp, new, rectangular lap pool was constructed inside the existing, more traditional, rectangular pool.
The original pool had a semi-circular entrance with steps, and the clients wanted this to disappear into the garden. To achieve this, a small section of wall that continued the line of the rest of the pool was added across the stairs and the gravel wetland was extended into the former step area so that it blended into the surrounding garden. Stepping stones give access to the swimming area.
